Applying for certification & maintaining your certification status

Application Process
Once you have passed the CISA certification exam, you will need to complete the Application for Certification as an Information Systems Auditor. The purpose of the Application is to prove that you have met all of the requirements necessary to receive your Certification as an Information Systems Auditor. You are required to submit your application within five years of having passed the exam, after which your passing exam score becomes invalid.

Maintaining your certification - Continuing Professional Education
The goal of the continuing professional education policy is to ensure that all CISA's maintain an adequate level of current knowledge and proficiency in the field of information systems audit, control and security. CISA's who successfully comply with the continuing professional education policy will be better trained to assess information systems and technology and provide leadership and value to their organizations.

The responsibility for setting the continuing professional education requirements rests with the CISA Certification Board (Board). The Board oversees the continuing professional education process and requirements to ensure their applicability.
